P1020510 EditAh, midsummer - don'tcha love it?

Quite a rainy month, but then less watering needed in the garden.

It turned hot towards the end of the month. I think our hottest day peaked at around 29°C.

A couple of garden visits, the first to the Pure Land Buddhist Garden. It is located by the mighty River Trent in North Clifton, near Newark.

Last year, when we went the garden was looking very dry and yellow in places after the long dry spell. This year, everywhere very green.

At one point, I saw  a party of young Africans skulking about in the shrubbery, semi-hiding with cameras. Then one of their number led a young lady on to one of the bridges, got down on one knee and proposed! It was very touching to watch.

At end of the month we went back for another visit to Scawby Hall, near Brigg. Boy, was it a hot afternoon.Lovely gardens, lovely house (I didn't go on the tour) and lovely tea and cake in the local church.
