April 2019 Cleethorpes 001Gorgeous, warm sunshine on Good Friday. The beach was packed with grateful visitors who, I think, couldn't quite believe their luck.

It was lovely to see the place doing what it does best.

All cafes and ice cream parlours had queues and Papas on the pier was doing a roaring trade in fish and chips.

Then Saturday. A complete contrast to Good Friday, with its thick mist that didn't begin to thin until nearly lunchtime.

Mist and fog are all part of the fun of living on the east coast. Not knocking it. The storms that batter the west of Britain have usually run out of steam by the time they reach us.
