Since we moved to North East Lincolnshire, we have done the mother-in-law run in a single day, rather than stop half way. Cleethorpes to Stenhousmuir takes around 5 hours, going via the A68. Two...

Immerse yourself in tales of alchemy and legend brought to life with spellbinding spectacle. The Twilight Hour is the story of 9 spirits created from magical Cleethorpes folklore and heritage. In the hour between twilight and dark, these restless souls take flight – in the echo of a song, a rumble of thunder, a trick of the light.

Whatever. But it proved to be a great opportunity for photographing something a bit different. A great atmosphere, with families just enjoying the spectacle. And all free.

Hats off to the organisers. I hope they put on something similar next year.

I'm guessing the kite display on Sunday was connected, but maybe not. Nevertheless, it was hugely enjoyable.

The light winds proved challenging for some of the inflatables, but most mde it off the sands.
