Looked out the window - thick fog! Took my Panasonic  LX100 out for a walk, and was glad I did. Ely was spookily quiet. Hardly anyone out on the streets, very unusual for a Saturday...

Doddington Hall 011It isn't spring, of course. But most people would call snowdrops, crocuses and cyclamen spring flowers.

To the ever-lovely Doddington Hall for some late winter / early spring cheer. A lovely, crisp morning and hardly anyone else around, so we had the gardens more or less to ourselves.

With the leaves off, it's possible to fully appreciate the magnificence of the ancient sweet chestnut that some believe predates the hall itself.
